I chanced upon an article by Mickinsey & Co recently and found it interesting. We have all heard of Emotional Quotient (EQ), IQ and even Adversity Quotient. It was the first time I came across Meaning Quotient (MQ). Essentially, it is saying that if we cannot find meaning in what we do, we will not be able to give our best and we will dread whatever that we are doing. (You can read about MQ here: http://www.mckinsey.com/insights/organization/increasing_the_meaning_quotient_of_work)
Are you dragging yourself to work? Good for you if you're not! but what about other members of our team? Are they dragging themselves in the tasks that we hand out to them? Do they know WHY they are doing the things they do?
Can you help them find meaning?
