Dr. G.M. (Bud) Benscoter
Instructional Systems Design Expert
Dr. G.M. (Bud) Benscoter has nearly 25 years of experience in instructional design, marketing, sales, organization development, and management. He has managed training departments in the computer and financial services industries, including clients like IBM, Toyota Motor Sales, Constellation Energy, Campbell Soup, Pepperidge Farms, AstraZeneca, Merck, The Bentley Institute, Godiva Chocolatier and Siemens Corporation.
Dr Benscoter’s instructional design experience includes:
a. Conducting extensive needs assessment for a nation-wide five-day program in emergency management services
b. Conducting needs assessment for e-learning programs in a financial services organization
c. Designing a blended learning approach for a financial services client
d. Developing performance-based training program for an automotive client.
e. Designing and delivering performance-based training program for instructional designers in a software company
f. Developing and implementing a comprehensive training evaluation program for an automotive client
g. Developing and delivering numerous workshops in behavioral interviewing, negotiation, coaching, presentation skills and more.
Serving as the Instructional Systems Design Expert with 5hue Pte Ltd, Dr. Benscoter is also certified to deliver 360 feedback instruments developed by the Center for Creative Leadership and has done work with a variety of organizations in delivering leadership development processes and products.
Dr. Benscoter has a Master’s and Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Design from Penn State, where he taught for 20 years in both the Instructional Systems and M.B.A. programs. He received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Smeal College of Management in 1997 and 2005. Dr Benscoter also taught for three years at the Wharton School of Management at the University of Pennsylvania and for four years in the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. In 2011, he taught courses in Instructional design and human resource development for The George Washington University in Singapore.
Dr. Benscoter has published numerous articles, and is a frequent speaker at regional and international conferences.
